Follon Tincture
Follon Tincture is a pioneering local treatment for androgenetic alopecia incorporating the unique innovation of Local Inhibition of Sex Steroids.
After years of follow up research, many naturally occurring substances, well known for their therapeutic properties, have been successfully combined in Follon Tincture creating an active formulation that can be effectively introduced into the hair follicle without causing any kind of side effects.
Follon Tincture contains:
1) IsoComplex Concentrate:
a. Designed exclusively for topical application, IsoComplex Concentrate is a plant sterol substance which, with scientific evidence, can actually inhibit the production of DHT locally in the skin.
b. Studies showed that this proprietary phytosterolic compound is a multisite inhibitor of androgen action, inhibiting the activity of both isoenzymes I and II of 5a-reductase and competing with the produced DHT at the androgen receptor level.
2) Saw Palmento Extract, a well known botanically derived ingredient traditionally used in the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplacia, a condition similar to androgenetic alopecia in that it also depends on the production of DHT. Although no studies have been carried out proving a direct correlation between Saw Palmento and androgenetic alopecia, there is enough clinical evidence to support that Saw Palmento:
a. Inhibits the activity of the enzymes 5-lipoxygenase and cyclo-oxygenase which results in prevention of microinflammations.
b. Combats and neutralizes pathogenic bacteria and prevents infection.
c. Strengthens microcirculation.
d. Decreases the proliferative effects of DHT on prostate cells and therefore, on dermal papilla cells too.
More concisely, it is the anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, stimulating and anti-androgenic properties that appear to account for the beneficial role of Saw Palmento in encountering androgenetic alopecia.
3) Tussilago Farfara Extract, a significant natural ingredient with anti-inflammatory action that is very important for the treatment of microinflammations at the area of the dermal papilla.
4) Malva Silvestris Extract, a potent topical antiseptic that prevents the development of infections.
5) Retinol, a vitamin with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and stimulating properties.
6) Biotin, a vitamin that is required for healthy circulation, helps the production of keratin which is a substance absolutely necessary for the normal growth of hair.
7) Zinc PCA, an ingredient with antibacterial and antiseptic properties that:
a. Reduces the overproduction of sebum in the scalp’s follicles and prevents the excess secretion of oils.
b. Weakly inhibits 5a-reductase activity and helps in the decrease of DHT production.
c. Protects the scalp from harmful microorganisms.
The effectiveness and potency of Follon Tincture also depends on its ability to regulate seborrhea and reach the targeted tissue by removing the detrimental sebum that obstructs the follicle entrance. Equisetum Arvense, Dimethyl Isosorbide and Urea are substances used to facilitate absorption of the active ingredients into the scalp’s follicles.
Overall, Follon Tincture constitutes a complete product for the hair care. Apart from the above ingredients it also contains extract of Urtica Dioica and a number of vitamins and trace elements which are essential for natural hair growth as well as lenitive and acopic factors that help in the better hygiene of the scalp.
Multiple Action
1) Reduces the production of DHT locally in the skin.
2) Blocks the androgen receptor sites on cell membranes required for cells to absorb DHT.
3) Counteracts microinflammations, diminishes their harmful effects and anticipates their development.
4) Rejuvenates the scalp's skin.
5) Stimulates the microcirculation.
6) Strengthens and improves the quality of the hair.
7) Regenerates hair growth.
Directions for Use:
Follon Tincture is applied twice daily, morning and night.
Each time, spray 6 to 8 times depending on the extent of the baldness.
Gently massage until the product is absorbed in the follicles of the scalp.
The first satisfactory results will be observed after a three month period of combined treatment with Follon Caps and Shampoo. However, completion of the treatment may vary from 6 to 12 months because it highly depends on the extent of the initial problem.
Finally, it is very important to emphasize that in androgenetic alopecia in women, the inhibitors of the isoenzyme II of 5a-reductase (eg. Finasteride) have been clinically proven not to result in any improvement of the condition.
On the contrary, Follon products can also inhibit the activity of the isoenzyme I of 5a-reductase and that makes them effective and appropriate for use by women with androgenetic alopecia.
